  • Meter Analysis

Supporting and developing Meter Analysis. A browser based service that allows the data collected from various electrical, heat and other utility meters, installed on a client's premises, to be viewed and analysed. This development in colaboration with PSW Energy Consultancy is my main focus at the current time as many companies try to reduce utility bills. The code is written in Java and JSP, and connects to a MySQL database.

  • Watts International property and construction consultants

I recently stopped providing support and development for Watts' intranet job management system after 10 years. This system was originally written in PHP and included links to MySQL and SQLServer databases, as well as interfaces to a number of third party packages. Over time I completly rewrote this intranet system using c# and SharePoint, which I continued to support until the organisation switched to an alternate technology.

  • travel & general insurance company

I have been working for travel & general for nearly 20 years. During this time I initially worked on their internal MIS system which assisted them with the provision of insurance products to the travel industry. Then I developed a website that allows their clients to apply for insurance and follow the progress of their applications on line. More recently I have been working on systems to provide travel insurance to the public, either directly through their 'tagdirect' website, or indirectly through a second website, accessable only to their clients.

Most recently I updated the whole MIS to operate using SharePoint. The majority of the original code was ported to c# from its original ASP. The client facing code is written in Java and JSP. All components access data in a Microsoft SQL database.
